Idiopathic Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a
neurodegenerative disorder resulting from abnormal
aggregation of alpha-synuclein and the
consequences are the degeneration of dopaminergic
neurons in substantia nigra. As dopamine
decreases, motor symptoms such as bradykinesia,
rigidity, tremor, and postural instability can develop.
